About Us... Developed in the historic Old Distillery Building in downtown Helena, the Old Distillery Lofts are cradled in the foothills of the Montana Rockies. These one-of-a-kind homes come with great Montana history, amazing views, and a central location offering a state of the art movie theater out the back door, an artisan bakery, gourmet market, barista bar, and bistro downstairs. Just one block from two parks, and where the weekly farmers market is offered up every Saturday throughout the summer, and two blocks from Exploration Works, the new children's science and discovery center - the Old Distillery Lofts offer the best of Urban Mountain Living.
Originally the site of the Placer Child Mining Claim, the property has played a historic piece in Helena's history. In 1916 the State Nursery purchased the property and built this historic building as their seed and feed warehouse, as it was perfectly situated in the Great Northern rail yard. Then in the 1940's Holter Hardware occupied the building as their retail store and warehouse. Later, in 1947, Norman J. Holter, scientist and philanthropist, founded the Holter Research Foundation on the fourth floor of the building. It is here where he developed and created the first ever pacemaker, called the Holter Heart Monitor.
In the early 1960's the building was purchased again and transformed into the Montana Distillery Company, fine distillers of products such as Lewis & Clark Gold Rush.
Now, after 8 years empty, the building is finding new life as the home of the Wild Plum Bakery & Market, The Warehouse Bistro, and the Old Distillery Lofts.

About Us... The Painted Pot is a Contemporary Ceramics Studio (a paint your own pottery store). Our staff will show you how easy it is to: choose a piece of ceramic bisque, pick a design, select from over 50 paint glazes and create a masterpiece. After painting is completed, our staff takes five to seven days to put on an overglaze and fire the pottery. No experience is needed and all ages are welcome. If you need a new party experience, bring 8 to 20 individuals to our party room and you will get overglaze and firing for free. Your supply the food and drinks and we supply the entertainment.
